The invention relates to a transmitting and/or receiving station (1) for a TDMA radio communication system in which data is transmitted in time slots (S1 to S4). Said station comprises a program storage (MEM) for a first program (PR1) that generates the data to be transmitted or processes the received data and for a second program (PR2) that compiles the data to be transmitted in a form suitable for transmission in a time slot or decomposes the data received in one of the time slots. Said station also comprises a processor (P) which processes the first program (PR1) during at least one first time slot (S1, S3), interrupts the processing of the first program during at least one successive second time slot (S2, S4) and processes the second program (PR2).
