The transmission device transmits information in the form of electronic mail by converting the information entered via an input device, e.g. a keyboard or touch-screen display, into electronic mail via a data processor, for subsequent transmission to the entered electronic mail address via a computer network transmission link. The operation of the device may be controlled via a cash device, or a credit or telephone card reader.
