Heat exchanger, especially vapor condenser

A heat exchanger for especially the recovery of condensing vapors consists of a stack of cassettes, each of which is an enclosed, flat unit, and enclosed within a housing through which cooling air passes. Each cassette consists of two shallow pans placed face-to-face and push-fitted together with overlapping edges. The cassettes are arranged vertically in a side-to-side stack. Adjacent cassettes have co-located apertures linked by passages with outer seals, and held together by suitable clamp fittings. This arrangement allows cooling air to flow freely around the outside of the cassette without making contact with the moist air flowing through the cassette stack.
