A controller for automobile which is provided with a relay (46) which outputs and controls a driving current to a large-current load (40) from a battery (41), a smoothing capacitor (42) which is connected between the load (40) connecting side of the relay (46) and an earth, and a precharging circuit (60) which closes the contact of the relay (46) in a predetermined period of time after a capacitor (42) is charged with electric charges.
