<p>A retainer for a connector terminated to a signal transmitting cable 3 has a first bracket 4 interlocking with an opening 8 through a panel or chassis 6 using latches 11. An overmolding 17 on the connector forms a second bracket 15 interlocking with the first bracket 4, and the first bracket 4 has latch fingers 12 latched to the second bracket 15. Alternatively, bracket 4 has ridge 24a which fits into the opening and has latch fingers 12 with shoulders 14 which are pushed outwards by flanges on the second bracket which fit in slots 12a to lock the brackets together and interlock the connector in the panel using the flanges on the second bracket.</p> |
