To assist the initial rising movement of a vehicle boot lid attached to hinge part 4 connected by pivoted links 6, 8 to a hinge part (2) mounted on the vehicle body, a leaf 16 of folded leaf spring 14, 18, 16 on part (2) urges roller 32 on part 4 upwards with lid opening. A compressible gas strut may be connected directly to the body and lid, or alternatively may be connected to hinge parts (2) and 4 as a more easily installed sub-assembly. |
