PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fund amount prediction method for automatic teller machine capable of predicting a required fund amount with less error and realizing a strong support for compressing the fund amount without increasing a cash run-out trouble in the automatic teller machine, and to provide the device therefor. SOLUTION: The transaction information of the automatic teller machines 101-10n and environment information at the time of transaction generation are stored in a time sequential information database 14. A prediction period environment information specifying part 13 specifies the environment information of a prediction period, a previous year data retrieval part 15 retrieves the appropriate reference time sequential data of a previous year from the time sequential information data base 14 based on the environment information and a this year data retrieval part 16 retrieves the appropriate reference time sequential data of this year from the time sequential information database 14 based on the environment information. A reference data averaging part 17 averages the retrieved respective time sequential data and turns the result to reference data and required fund amount prediction part 18 predicts the required fund amount of the prediction period based on the reference data.
