PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an active matrix display integrated with an image sensor at a low cost, without complicating the process. SOLUTION: A photodetecting matrix 111 has an image sensor comprising a laminate of TFTs and photodetectors. A display matrix 121 has an electrode layer 308 TFTs and pixel electrodes 312, disposed on the matrix with an electrode layer 308 functioning as a black matrix. A lower electrode 208 of the photodetector is made from the same starting film as a light-proof film 308. Terminals 606, 603, 601 for fixing the potential of upper electrodes 212 made from the same staring film as those of signal lines 306, electrode layer 308, pixel electrodes 606 and also function as shield electrodes at the side faces of the photodetectors because of their fixed potentials. |
