PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the valve travel of an electronic expansion valve at the time of completion of a defrosting operation which corresponds to the actual situation of installation, by a method wherein the valve travel after completion of defrosting is corrected on the basis of learning from the electronic expansion valve at the time of completion of defrosting in the past. SOLUTION: In an air conditioner which has a refrigerant circuit equipped with a compressor 1, an outdoor heat exchanger 3, an electronic expansion valve 5 and an indoor heat exchanger 6 and wherein a defrosting operation for removing frost occurring on the outdoor heat exchanger 3 at the time of a heating operation is conducted by switching the direction of flow of a refrigerant in the circuit over to a reverse cycle, a corrective value Cd for correcting the valve travel of the electronic expansion valve 5 at the time of completion of a next defrosting operation is determined so that it may correspond to a change in the temperature of a discharged gas refrigerant at the time of completion of the defrosting operation and the valve travel of the electronic expansion valve 5 in the next time is set on the basis of the corrective value Cd. Thereby the corrective vale Cd corresponding to the change in the temperature of the discharged gas refrigerant at the time of completion of the defrosting operation in the past is reflected on the valve travel of the electronic expansion valve at the time of completion of the defrosting operation in the next time. |
