PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the data transmitter that stops transmission or re-transmission of data whose validity is expired resulting in a deteriorated efficiency by a conventional method limits number of times of re-transmission to each medium and makes a transmission band efficient in the case of applying block processing to each of a plurality of information media including a real time system such as a moving image and multiplexing the blocks into one stream. SOLUTION: In the transmission operation, coded data are divided into blocks (in the unit of re-transmission) (S301). An error correction code is added according to the re-transmission mode designated for each medium (S302, S303). In the case that a channel of a medium is set by an automatic re-transmission request (ARQ) (S304; YES), whether the setting of the ARQ is by a mode with a term of validity or without the validity is discriminated (S305), an indefinite period is written in block management information of limitless non-real time information and a transmission validity is written in block management information of information with term of validity (S306, S307), the resulting information is sent to a transmission queue of a transmission control section (S308). In the case of transmission, blocks whose validity is expired are aborted. The transmission validity is used for the ARQ operation at a receiver side. |
