PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin and highly reliable coil component used for various electronic devices. SOLUTION: This coil component is provided with a closed magnetic circuit magnetic core 36 having a central magnetic leg 38, an outer magnetic leg 40 and a common magnetic leg 41, and an inside circumferential surface 22 and an outside circumferential surface 23 of an air-core coil 20 where a plate lead wire 21 formed of straight-angle lead wire or foil lead wire is wound around the central magnetic leg 39 of the closed magnetic circuit magnetic core 36 is molded, and then terminals 24 and 25 are provided to a resin part 27 of the outside circumferential surface to make a terminal block 29. Further, an end surface 31 of a resin part 28 of the inside circumferential surface and the resin part 27 of the outside circumferential surface is made higher than the end surface 32 of the air-core coil 20 by providing a step, thereby forming a coil component 30.
