PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming material having good printing resistance and sensitivity without the degradation in plate wear by irradiation of a plate material after development at the time of subjecting the plate material to printing and an image forming method. SOLUTION: This image forming material has a photosensitive layer contg. a compd. capable of generating an acid by irradiation with active rays, a compd. having at least one of the bonds decomposable by the acid, an IR absorber and a UV absorber on a base. This image forming method has a stage for writing images by using visible light of a wavelength >=700 nm or IR rays on the photosensitive layer of the image forming material, then removing the exposed parts by an alkaline developer. The image forming material is otherwise the image forming material having the photosensitive layer contg. the compd. capable of generating the acid by irradiation with the active rays, the compd. having at least one of the bonds crosslinkable in the presence of the acid, the IR absorber and the UV absorber on the base and the image forming method for the same has the stage for writing the images by using the visible light of the wavelength >=700 nm or the IR rays on the photosensitive layer of the image forming material, then removing the unexposed parts by the alkaline developer. |
