ATM COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM asynchronous transfer mode communication equipment that has a management means that prevents the deterioration of performance efficiently in a connection management effective in VPI(virtual path identifier) and VCI(virtual channel identifier). SOLUTION: An interface circuit 33 is arranged between a processor 21 and a connection management table 32. In the case of retrieving an address from data of the table, retrieved data are set to the interface circuit 33 and the interface circuit 33 conducts data read and comparison sequentially in the connection management table 32 autonomously to output the result to the processor 21.
