Acid bath for coating metal substrates with zinc phosphate contains effective quantity of at least one polymeric or monomeric compounds with formo-phenolic structure. Independent claims are also included for concentrate supplied to bath; a kit containing constituents of the concentrate; method of coating with zinc phosphate using the bath; and metallic substrates with the coating.
