PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make editable hypertext documents, which are related to one another by users safely without generating any contradiction in the relation, by adding information on priority to a group of pieces of information on a document group in hyperlink relation with the documents to be edited and performing control over the editing order of the documents to be edited and exclusive editing. SOLUTION: A hierarchical structure managing means 102 manages hyperlink relation information obtained by introducing parent-child order of precedence into pieces of node information on respective nodes of a hypertext and the hyperlink relation between the nodes. A lock object determining means 103 determines a node group to be locked according to the hyperlink relation information and a lock object determination rule. A lock means 101 locks the node groups for securing exclusive editing by using a lock information holding means 201, and newly generates, deletes, and alters specific node information by reference from the hierarchical structure managing means 102 and then registers the result in the hierarchical structure managing means 102.
