PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a scanning angle large by moving a light source so that the incident angle of light beams made incident on a reflection mirror is changed when the light beams are deflected and used for scanning. SOLUTION: By reflecting the light beam emitted from the light source 1 at an almost identical position to the reflection mirror 2, the light beam is deflected and used for scanning. When it is deflected and used for scanning, the light source 1 is moved so that the incident angle of the light beam made incident on the mirror 2 is changed. The incident anglesθA,θB andθC of the respective light beams LA, LB and LC made incident on the mirror 2 are provided with the relation ofθA>θB>θC. Then, when the position of the mirror 2 is fixed, the deflecting operation of the light beams can be executed by the scanning angle of (θA-θC). When the mirror 2 is rotated and vibrated like a galvanomirror, the scanning angle can be made larger. That means, the scanning angle can be made large without increasing the vibration amplitude of the mirror 2 by moving the light source 1.
