摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the creeping withstand voltage of the spacer surface, and to make the dimension of one picture element or one region very small without reducing the aperture dimension of the spacers, by laminating a plurality of conductive spacers with a high resistance surface having partition walls provided at dimensional pitches more than a specified multiple of the size of one picture element or one region by shifting the spacers, at the dimensional pitch of one picture element or one region. SOLUTION: Electron emission parts 2 are arrayed on an element substrate 1 at pitches of 0.5 mm, further modulating electrodes 3 are arrayed through insulating layers 7. Then, #-shaped spacers 8-11 having an aperture pitch 1.0 mm, partition wall thickness 0.1 mm and height 1.4 mm are piled up in a zigzag pattern so as to stagger at intervals of 0.5 mm respectively in the X and the Y directions, and are arranged on the modulating electrodes 3, further on it, a face plate 4 having an ITO film 5 and phosphors 6 are put, then they are vocuumized. Each spacer 8-11 has the #-shape wherein the partition walls are provided at the pitch of more than twice the array pitch of the electron emission part 2.
