PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the ratio of hits to misses in a cache by removing an item fetched from a lower level in a memory hierarchy from the cache and determining the selection of the item by exchange algorithm. SOLUTION: In the system, an item to be inputted to a cache memory 114 is provided with a relative class attribute 112 having at least two available values including 1st and 2nd values. When a 1st item has a relative class attribute 112 having the 1st value, the memory 114 uses 1st exchange algorithm for arranging the 1st item in the memory 114. When a 2nd item has a relative class attribute 112 having the 2nd value, the memory 114 uses 2nd exchange algorithm for arranging the 2nd value in the memory 114. |
