PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To search the location of a missing portable telephone terminal as fast as possible by sending a position registration request signal before a bettery of the portable telephone terminal under search has worn out. SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of the location search request of the portable telephone terminal 1, a maintenance center 3 sends a portable telephone terminal search application signal including its telephone number information to all portable telephone base stations 2 via an exchange network 4 and each portable telephone base station 2 sends a position register transmission request signal including the telephone number information to its own radio service area based on the portable telephone terminal search application signal. Upon the receipt of the position registration transmission request signal including its own telephone number information, the portable telephone terminal 1 sends a position registration request signal to the portable telephone base station 2 corresponding to the resident radio service area and the portable telephone base station 2 receiving the position registration request signal informs the location of the portable telephone telephone terminal to the maintenance center 3 and sets a channel between the portable telephone terminal and the maintenance center to attain a speech.
