The unit includes a cooling fluid circuit comprising a compressor (12), a condenser (13) arranged in a first inlet air branch (10). An expansion valve (14) and an evaporator (15) are arranged in a second air inlet branch (11). The unit is placed under the vehicle floor. A commutation device (19) placed in a mixing zone (8) can move between several positions is able to put into communication each of the air inlet branches, either with one or more air distribution ducts (25,26) or to the outside (20).
