PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the data communication method by which the transmission rate of data is made proper. SOLUTION: In this method, the data communication system consisting of a data transmitter 301 that sends data to a data receiver 302 via a data channel through which the data are unidirectionally sent from the data transmitter 301 to the data receiver 302 and of the data receiver 302 that receives the data from the data transmitter 301 makes data communication. Transmission speed information denoting the transmission rate of data is sent from the data receiver 302 to the data transmitter 301 via a control channel (S404). Then the data receiver 302 receives the transmission rate information from the data receiver 302 via the control channel (S405) and sends the data at the transmission rate denoted by the transmission rate information to the data receiver 302 via the data channel (S407). Then the receiver 302 receives the data from the data transmitter 301 via the data cannel (S408).
