PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display having high-definition and high-brightness and long discharge life, by using a substrate on which striped partition walls with the pitch, the line width and the height specified within a particular range of value are formed, and by defining the half-value width and the thickness of the bottom of fluorescent substance layers within a particular range of value. SOLUTION: A panel of a plasma display is composed of a substrate A, an electrode layer B having electrodes b, partition walls C and fluorescent layers C. Striped partition walls with the pitch 80-200 μm, the line width 10-50 μm, the height 100-170 μm are formed on the surface of the substrate A, and the substrate is provided with fluorescent substance layers D wherein the half width (Ph) and the thickness of the bottom (Pb) satisfy an equation I, an equation II and an equation III. If the line width is below 10 μm, the intensity of the partition walls deteriorates, and if it goes beyond 50 μm, the discharge space gets narrow and the brightness is lowered. Also, if the height is below 100 μm, the discharge space gets narrow and the brightness is lowered. If the height goes beyond 170 μm, ultraviolet rays generated by the discharge are absorbed until they get to the fluorescent substance, then the brightness is lowered. |
