PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double layer capacitor and an electrode wherein a resistance value between an electrode and a current-collecting plate is lowered and no crack or remaining stress occurs at the electrode. SOLUTION: Relating to an electric double layer capacitor electrode 2 comprising a PVDC(polyvinylidene chloride) resin carbide sintered body, a layer of conductive particles 22 of diameter 10 μm or less is allocated between a current-collecting plate 3 and a sintered body of a PVDC resin carbide 21. For a conductive particle layer, carbon or precious metal of such particle as corrosion-resistant against sulfuric avid such as Pd, Pt, Au, etc., for example carbon black is preferred.
