PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the decrease of load of an oil pump and the improvement of starting response by control of brake engaging pressure for hill hold, in engine starting control in car stopping of a hybrid vehicle. SOLUTION: A controller 5 for starting a hybrid vehicle provided with an engine 1, a motor 2 and a transmission 4 for power of them from the stopping state by engine starting is provided with a road condition estimating means S4 for estimating the road gradient condition and a starting intention detecting means S6 for detecting the starting intention of a driver from the change of wheel brake hydraulic pressure. An engaging pressure control means S9 controls engaging pressure of a brake for hill hold provided on the transmission 4 according to the road gradient and decreases load of an oil pump for generating base pressure of engaging pressure. The engine is started by the starting intention detection with good response. |
