PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively make good use of electronized dictionary information and to improve the usability by allowing a user to extract and add necessary information as dictionary information automatically in a state wherein dictionary information is used during document preparation. SOLUTION: A dictionary retrieving process part 32 retrieves index information from a retrieval word storage part 40 according to index information inputted by a retrieval word input process part 30 and obtains corresponding dictionary information. A selecting operation implementing process part 36 prepares a document selectively including the index information inputted by the retrieval word input process part 30 and the contents of the dictionary information obtained by the dictionary retrieving process part 32. An index word input process part 39 changes the said index information so that it corresponds to the retrieved dictionary information. A new information registering process part 38 stores the index information and part of the document which is prepared by the selecting operation implementing process part 36 and includes the index information in the retrieval word storage part 40 as dictionary information.
