PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance oxygen pump capacity by lowering the interfacial resistance generated between powders, by adding a component such as platinum or the like supported by a catalyst producing method to a porous powder of a noble metal and a powder of a solid electrolyte having oxygen ion conductivity. SOLUTION: An oxygen ion conductive powder is impregnated with a Pt soln. (e.g.; dinitrodiamine platinum nitrate soln.), and the impregnated powder is dried and baked to bond Pt to the powder to obtain a Pt supported powder. This supported powder and a Pt powder are mixed and a binder, an org. solvent and a viscosity control agent are added to the resulting mixture to obtain paste which is, in turn, applied to a green sheet to be converted to a solid electrolytic layer 1 having oxygen ion conductivity by a screen printing method, and other green sheet is laminated on this coated green sheet and both sheets are dried and baked to obtain an electrode. Since the component having catalytic function is uniformly dispersed in the electrode, the interfacial resistance between crystal particles lowers and the local irregularity of oxygen pump capacity is reduced and the irregularity of the pump capacity between lots is reduced. |
