PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method of tracking the position of a paper sheet moved with plural feeding mechanisms in a printer, through a paper path. SOLUTION: In the method, a first feeding mechanism 122 is driven by the operation of a first driving means 124 and the paper is set in a first position, in cooperation with the first feeding mechanism 122. Then, the paper is moved toward a second feeding mechanism 136 by using the first feeding mechanism and the second feeding mechanism 136 is driven by the operation of a second driving means 140. After that, the paper is set in a second position, in cooperation with the second feeding mechanism 136 and moved toward a paper exit position by using the second feeding mechanism 136. The paper path passes through the first and second feeding mechanisms 122 and 136 and is specified by the movement of the paper from the first position to the paper exit position and the distance of the passage of the paper, while it is influenced by one of the first and second driving means 124 and 140 is calculated at least on the partial basis of the operation of at least the other of the first and second driving means 124 and 140. |
