PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a parallactic fluctuation when an input picture is changed- over between an animation and a still picture by multiplying parallactic information at every parallactic calculation area by means of a still picture ratio which is calculated through the use of a still picture ratio calculating means. SOLUTION: CPU 530 calculates parallactic informamtion at every parallactic calculation area in one field screen at every field based on a picture feature quantity concerning picture distance which is calculated by a circuit 512 for calculating data in a variety of screens. Moreover, CPU 530 sets the still picture ratio to zero when the animation is judged, based on the horizontal component of a movement vector which is detected by a movement vector detecting circuit 511 and to 100 when the still picture is judged. Then, a processing for smoothing the still picture ratio is executed in order to reduce the fluctuation of the still picture ratio between the fields. CPU 530 corrects parallactic information by multiplying parallactic information at every calculated parallactic calculation area by the still picture ratio obtained by the smoothing processing. |
