Exhaust gas heat exchanger with integral silencers for thermal power stations

The heat exchanger comprises parallel double walled pipes (10) which have detachable flanges (16) at each end. Tangential inlet (8) and outlet (9) ports feed exhaust gas through each inner pipe in succession. Each inner pipe has a removable axial tube (12) with a helical baffle (13), and/or removable silencer elements (14, 15). Coolant is fed tangentially through the annular space between the pipes. The heat exchanger can be arranged with pipes horizontally under, or above the engine, or at the side of the engine with pipes running vertically. The silencer elements can be located immediately after a baffle, of the same or different diameters, offset relative to each other, and/or successively larger in the direction of gas flow.
