SHIELDED CONNECTOR WITH PCB BOARDLOCK

A shielded connector comprises an integral shield member (6) made of a relatively ductile material in order to form the deep drawn mating portion (22). The shield member has a boardlock (20) integrally formed therewith. The boardlock (20) is engaged by spring support beams (50) of the housing in order to enhance the resiliency of the boardlock and improve positioning on a circuit board prior to soldering.
