The pressure production plant has an inlet valve (10), which by holding open enables the compressor (21) to be changed over from delivery operation to no-load running. A feed valve (4) is connected ahead of the feed conduit (6) or is incorporated in it and in delivery operation is moved to a through passage position. The feed valve in no-load operation is switched to a one-way through passage position (5), in which it is accessible only for a flow to the compressor. The compressor compression chamber (17) is connectable via the inlet valve with a feed conduit which is at least partly form as a feed chamber (8).
