Two adjoining table units (2,3,4) are so hinged together by a coupling that movement of one unit entrains the adjoining unit. One of all units has a single axle roller support (5) and the coupling comprises two elements which pivot round a common axis normal to the roller plane so each element is allocated via rigid supporting arm to the respective table unit at radial spacing from the rotation axis of the adjoining support (5). Assuming the units in a chain layout of more than two units, each end unit has a single support arm and those units between have arms to both sides. Viewed in plan, all the arms stand normal to the respective rotation axes and extend along a central axis of the respective table unit. In the table variant, each unit has a multi-axis roller support for respective table plate tops (6), necessarily staggered as between respective units. The table plate can be supported by a single center foot of the support (5) and all the plates are dimensioned so as to produce a conjoint extensive table surface when they lie in one line. The rollers (7) are at the outer sides of the support (5) so the rollers meet before the respective tables make contact in oblique settings.
