The binding has a boot placing aid formed by concave and convex sections (11',12') on boot sole edge and on raised segments (11,12) on the snowboard. When the boot is mainly parallel to the snowboard surface, the fitting aid moves the boot continuously into its correct position, by increasingly limiting its movement in longitudinal and cross direction. The binding also has a loop (16) as a positioning aid.
