System comprising a memory assembly (2) called files containing on the one hand identification of carriers, shippers, and services of each carrier, of documents which have to accompany each shipping and of authorisations of each shipper regarding carriers and services, and on the other hand receiving the details relating to each shipping, a programmed control assembly (3) linked to the said files, for deriving and controlling the storage in memory of the details of each shipping, means of printing (10-13) of documents for generating the documents for each shipping, the said means of printing comprising a franking machine (13), the system furthermore comprising a weighing machine (14), characterised in that it comprises an electronic card (20) which is inserted into the processing unit and gives control of the link with the said franking (13) and with the said weighing machine (14), and provides monitoring and locking of the program of the system by intervening in the exchanges between the programmed control assembly (13) and the memory assembly (2).
