The present invention relates to a method for the electrolysis of an aqueous saline solution, wherein said method includes a first step that comprises carrying out the electrolysis of the initial saline solution. This method further comprises carrying out a second electrolysis of the solution which has been obtained during the first step and contains the electrolysis products. The second electrolysis of the solution obtained during the first step is carried out with the addition of water to said solution. During the second electrolysis, the water is preferably added to the solution obtained during the first step according to a volumetric ratio between said solution and water of 1: (0.15 - 0.2).
