An instrument for measuring the voltages of cells, comprises differential amplifiers (2) each of which produces an output voltage corresponding to the voltage of the respective one of cells (1), and the amplifiers (2) are divided into groups (5) each composed of an appropriate number of amplifiers (2). Grounding terminals (6) which are insulated from each other and control power sources (7) which are insulated from each other are provided, one for each group. Each power source (7) is connected between the power supply terminal (2a) of the differential amplifier (2) of the corresponding group (5) and the grounding terminal (6).
