OPTICAL SCANNER ASSEMBLY FOR USE IN A LASER IMAGING SYSTEM

An optical scanner assembly (50) for exposing an image on a photosensitive film (66). The photosensitive film is positioned on the internal surface (64) of a drum (54). The optical scanner assembly (50) includes a laser assembly (76) for producing a laser beam (88) representative of the image to be exposed on the photosensitive film (66), a scanner (82), and a long, flexible lens (L3) curved to the shape of the photosensitive film (66) positioned on the internal surface (64) of the drum (54), wherein the lens (L3) is positioned between the scanner (82) and the film (66). The scanner (82) operates to scan the laser beam (88) through the lens (L3) across the surface of the photosensitive film (66) in an image-wise pattern.
