The guard is made from two elastic material parts (2) set in one plane and overlapping tightly in one area (3) wherein the overlapping edges are each reinforced by an elastic element (4) such as rubber bands. The remaining edges can also be elastically reinforced. The ends of the elastic edge elements are held by a profiled member having recesses (6) such as grooves or bores.
