Method to forecast minimum stopping distance of vehicle with brakes applied

The method involves measuring vehicle weight, vehicle speed and stopping distance, tire radius and tire width for at least one model vehicle, which is braked at full power. At least one equation is statistically obtained to predict the minimum stopping distance from the data. Data for a vehicle under test are substituted into the equation, to compute the predicted minimum stopping distance. An Independent claim is provided for a device for carrying out the method.
