Cable sleeve with insert surrounding splice

An insert consists of two separate individual layers (3,5) of which the first layer facing the splice consists of cardboard and the second lying on the first layer consists of a metal/plastic compound foil. The foil is an aluminium foil coated with polyester on one side. The first layer has folds or corrugations. It is slit at its side edges. The slits are triangular so that pointed tongues result. A cable sleeve has an insert surrounding the splice over which, and the cable ends opening into it, a shrink sleeve can be put on. The insert is not only of a permanent shape and heat-insulating but also permeation-tight.
