The weighing unit is connected with a system carrier (2) across an upper (7) and a lower guide (6). One of the guides has two parts arranged which are arranged on both sides of the undivided guide (6). The load pickup (4,4',4''), the guide (6,7) and the system carrier form a one piece part (1). Strain gauge strips arranged on at least one of the guides, produce electric signals depending on the loading. The one piece part (1) has two openings (5) for two battery openings (5). The load pickup is designed approximately U shaped. Both limbs (4') of the U are located near the side of the battery openings. The strain gauge strips (14) are arranged only on the inner side of the non-divided guide (6).
