Step-in snowboard binding has locking assembly for automatically locking swivel bolt and having step-on spur pressed down as boot is inserted in binding. The swivel bolts (8) are automatically locked in position by a locking assembly (10, 13) tensioned into the locking position and having a step-on spur (14) which is automatically pushed down when the boot is inserted in the binding. The locking assembly first unlocks the locking position of the bolt and then allows the bolt to be adjusted into an intermediate position between the release and locking positions where the boot can be fitted. The locked position is visible for safety checking.
