<p>This invention relates to a novel display technique called LINE-1 Display which is designed to easily identify differences in the L1Hs insertion sites between different individuals. LINE-1 Display is capable of detecting two types of polymorphisms: differences in insertion site locations, and differences in the lengths of L1Hs polyA tails. Insertion site polymorphisms are particularly useful for human molecular anthropology while length polymorphisms are particularly useful for genetic mapping studies.</p> |
