The net carries a marker indicating when only a definite residual length (7) remains on the reel (3). The marker is a section of metal strip (8) applied to one net surface (21,22) Independent claims are included for a) the method of making the net, in which the strip is self-adhesive; b) a feeder pulling net off the reel, which includes a detector responding to strip presence by signaling impending reel exhaustion; c) use of the net and strip. When the signal is given, the exhausted reel is removed, a fresh one is mounted, and the trailing- and leading ends of the nets are joined. Preferred features: Strip width (9) exceeds 2-4 cm with its length exceeding 10-20 cm, running parallel to the net edge (2). The strip is on the surface uppermost in use and it is made of aluminum. |
