发明名称 WDM optical signal dispersion compensation
摘要 The WDM optical signal transmission apparatus comprises a main optical fibre 1 and two dispersion compensators 13 and 14, 24 and 23, one at each end of the main optical fibre 1. All the WDM channels are allocated to the normal dispersion region of the main optical fibre 1. The dispersion compensators are composed of second dispersion compensators 14, 24 for compensating the negative dispersion of the centre channel accumulated in the main optical fibre 1 and first dispersion compensators 13, 23 for compensating the additional dispersions of the other WDM channels. Since the second dispersion compensators 14, 24 can be used as parts of the transmission line 1, the dispersion compensators as a whole can be small-sized when compared with those in conventional systems. The first dispersion compensators 13, 23 comprise a plurality of separate dispersion compensating fibres, one per channel, connected to (de)multiplexers.
