<p>The machine (1) has a device (24a) for exchanging tools (17) between a tool store (26a) and the spindle (16) of a machining head (13a) carried by a carriage (14a) movable along the X axis; the store (26a) has a number of locations for the tools (17) arranged in a matrix of rows and columns; a worktable (6) is movable along the Y axis; and the tool-change device (24a) and the store (26a) are movable with respect to each other to select the required tool (17). For which purpose, activatable means (51) are provided to enable the carriage (14a) to command the relative movement of the device (24a) and the store (26a).
