METHOD FOR RECYCLING OPTICAL FIBER CABLE AND ITS JUNCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cost effectively and effectively recycle optical fiber cables and their junctures as resources by using the optical fiber cables and their junctures as fuel in a cement production stage and recycling the residual materials after combustion as cement raw materials. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cables including optical fibers cut to suitable sizes and their junctures are fed as they are into the cement raw materials just before a rotary kiln 2 where the cement raw materials are fired. The combustibles of plastics among the materials constituting the optical fiber cables and their junctures are recycled as the fuel and the remaining components after the combustion are recycled as part of the cement raw materials. Since there is a need for stably supplying the recycle amt. for the purpose of stabilizing cement quality, the cement raw material are desired to be cut at the constant sizes and are fed at a fixed speed. The optical fiber cables and their junctures are previously finely cut to <=1 m for this purpose. The optical fiber cables and their junctures are pressed before or right after the fine cutting for the assurance of the safety of the work.
