PRODUCTION OF REDUCED IRON AT LOW COST FROM IRON-MAKING DUST AND THE LIKE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of reduced iron which can shorten the drying process and easily treats the reduced iron product, in the case of producing the reduced iron by using iron ore or iron-making dust as the raw material. SOLUTION: At the time of producing the reduced iron from the iron ore or the iron-making dust, columnar pellet having 8-20 mm diameter and 10-50 mm length is produced from a mixed material constituted of the iron ore or plural kinds of dust and a carbonaceous agent, and after this pellet is dried to <=15% stuck moisture with a drier, the reduction treatment is executed in a rotary furnace hearth type sintering furnace at 1100-1300 deg.C.
