PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning material for packing, and method and apparatus for manufacturing the cushioning material to be used for the packing of articles. SOLUTION: This cushioning material is formed by fixing opposed two sides of a band-like paper into a band-like paper insertion groove of each of two metal cores parallel with each other, respectively, to be taken up by the metal cores. The cushioning material thus formed has a substantially cylindrical shape or an oval shape in its cross section and comprises two of substantially cylindrical members 28 parallel with each other and a paper board 29 remaining in the shape of joining both the substantially cylindrical members 28 to each other without being taken up. The cross section of each of the substantially cylindrial members 28 is hollow at its central portion, and favorable shock-absorbing properties are exhibited relative to a load such as shock. |
