PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject external preparation excellent in anti-oxidizing ability, safety and stability to oxidation, useful for producing a cosmetic, etc., by including an extract of a plant of the genus Ephedra of the family Ephedraceae as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This external preparation contains 0.00001-10.0 wt.%, preferably 0.0001-5.0 wt.% calculated as a dried substance of an extracted solution, a concentrated essence, etc., of a plant [preferably the whole plant of Ephedra americana] of the genus Ephedra of the family Ephedraceae extracted with an organic solvent (e.g. water, a polar solvent such as a lower alcohol, propylene glycol, etc., chloroform, dichloroethane, etc., or their mixture) as an active ingredient in the whole amount of the external preparation. |
